project management
Lead and manage customer implementations from scoping to go-live for a scientific R&D platform.
О компании
- Science moves slowly, not because researchers aren't brilliant, but because their tools haven't kept up. is changing that. We build a unified R&D platform used by leading chemists, material scientists, and biologists to speed up how new products are discovered, developed, and brought to market.
- Founded by engineers from MIT and Stanford, and trusted by enterprise R&D organizations across chemicals, pharmaceuticals, advanced materials, and food & beverage, is on a mission to accelerate industrial R&D by an order of magnitude. We're a high-impact team that moves fast and gives people real ownership from day one.
Обязанности
- As an Implementation Program Manager, you own a customer's implementation from scoping to go-live, across every phase. You are the person the customer's R&D leadership looks to for the plan, the timeline, and the answer to "where are we?" Inside , you are the person the delivery team looks to for direction.
- Each implementation runs with a defined team. Account Managers own the customer relationship, adoption, and growth. Scientific Implementation Managners own the technical design. Scientific Implementation team members execute the build, working heavily with AI agents that handle repetitive configuration and setup. The Implementation Program Manager sits at the center: you own the project management and make sure the whole team delivers what was scoped, on time and within hours.
- This is not a pure project management role. You need enough scientific and platform depth to scope a lab's real workflows, push back on a design that won't hold up, and earn the trust of PhD-level researchers. You also need the operating discipline to run status, stage gates, and sign-offs on several enterprise accounts at once. If you have led scientific software rollouts, or run implementations as a consultant, and want to do it with a modern, AI-first delivery team, this is that role.
Требования
- Implementation leadership: 3+ years leading software implementations or digital lab rollouts, whether for external clients at a vendor or consultancy, or internally as the project lead who brought an ELN, LIMS, or similar platform into your own R&D organization. At least a few of these should be ones where you owned the plan, the stakeholders, and the outcome end to end
- Scientific grounding: A background in chemistry, materials science, biology, chemical engineering, or a related field, enough to scope R&D workflows and hold your own with PhD-level researchers
- Project discipline: You run status, risks, scope, and sign-offs as a habit, across several concurrent projects, without being chased for it
- Ownership and judgment: You push back when a timeline, scope, or design doesn't make sense, including with customers and senior colleagues, and you take responsibility for the result
- AI-first working style: You already use AI tools in your own work and want a team where agents do a real share of the build. You will be expected to drive their adoption on your accounts
- Communication: Clear, concise writing and presenting for audiences from bench scientists to R&D directors and IT leaders
- Pace: Comfortable in a fast-moving company where processes are still being built and you help build them
Будет плюсом
- M.S. or Ph.D. in a scientific or engineering field
- Experience implementing or rolling out ELN, LIMS, PLM, or other R&D data platforms, either on the vendor side or as the customer's project lead
- Experience leading digital initiatives across several sites or regions, including on-site workshops with scientific teams
- Experience scoping integrations with ERP or other enterprise systems, and working with IT organizations
- Experience working with or managing implementation partners and system integrators
- Experience in a regulated or GxP-adjacent environment
- A second language used by our customers, such as German, French, or Spanish

Другое
- Thank you for your interest in Implementations!
- Lead scoping with the customer: define requirements, sites, teams, and workflows in and out of each phase, and agree on what a realistic first go-live includes
- Turn scoping into a phased plan with a timeline, deliverables, and post-sales commitments the delivery team can execute against
- Own on-time go-live for every phase and the hours spent against what was scoped
- Run status meetings with the customer and internally, and keep a current, written status the AM and leadership can read without asking
- Manage stage gates and customer sign-offs, so each phase closes cleanly before the next one opens
- Plan and run onsites and workshops, from agenda and logistics to who attends from both sides
- Spot scope creep and overruns early, and raise change requests or resourcing asks with clear justification rather than absorbing them quietly
- Scope integration requirements with the customer's IT and business teams, and write tickets the Integration Engineering team can act on
- Coordinate the enterprise integrations that a go-live depends on, such as sending data to ERP or other enterprise systems
- Work with implementation partners and system integrators when a customer brings one, and hold the delivery to 's standard
- Manager the work of the Scientific Implementation Managers & Associates on each account: who does what, by when
- Push SIs and the team to use AI agents for configuration and setup, and keep people working on the parts that need judgment
- Bring forward what you learn across accounts, so scoping, estimates, and playbooks get better for the next implementation
- Keep the AM informed on progress, risks, and customer sentiment, and escalate to them when an issue needs an executive conversation
- Sequence future phases jointly with the AM, for example deciding when to bring the next R&D team onto the platform
- Hand off to the AM and Customer Success at go-live with a clear picture of what was delivered and what comes next
- Month 1: Learn the platform and how we implement it, including the AI agents our SIs use for configuration. Shadow live implementations at different stages: a scoping workshop, a mid-build status cycle, and a go-live. Get to know the AMs, Solution Architects, and SIs you will work with.
- Month 2: Take over project management on one or two live implementations at their next phase boundary. Run status meetings and stage gates, own the written status, and take on integration scoping and onsite planning from the AM.
- Month 3: Own a new implementation end to end: lead scoping, set the phased plan and timeline, staff the team with your manager, and run it toward its first go-live. Bring at least one concrete improvement to how we scope, estimate, or report on implementations.
- Real ownership: You are the named owner of the implementation on accounts that include some of the largest R&D organizations in chemicals, consumer goods, and pharma
- A new delivery model: You will help define how a modern implementation team works when agents do a large share of the configuration, and your input will shape the playbook
- Breadth: Coatings, polymers, food science, pharma, and more, often in the same week
- Internal influence: What you see across accounts feeds directly into how we scope, price, and staff implementations, and into what product builds next
- Room to grow: The role sits close to delivery leadership, with a path to leading a group of Implementation Program Managers or a larger part of the delivery organization as the team grows
