- The engineering team designs and builds scalable systems using service-oriented and event-driven architecture serving millions of daily users including large youth and amateur sports organizations.
- Stack primarily includes Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL.
- TeamSnap’s platform supports mobile and web applications used by over 2 million daily active users and growing.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging experiences for millions of users across mobile and web applications.
- Design and implement scalable apps and services, integrating them into a unified product and system architecture.
- Brainstorm and evaluate new product features collaboratively with product and UX teams.
- Collaborate and pair with other developers to develop solutions and teach technical skills.
- Contribute to development standards to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and improvements.
- Champion and implement automated testing to uphold dependability and stability of backend systems.
- Take ownership of overall reliability of the team's services and actively engage in on-call responsibilities and incident management.
- Evaluate and test new technologies to accelerate development or better serve users.
- Help teammates overcome obstacles and resolve blockers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience leading large projects on high-scale, distributed software systems.
- Proficient in full stack development with Node, Python, Golang, Ruby, JavaScript utilizing React or similar.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as MySQL / GCP Cloud SQL including migrations, profiling, and optimization.
- Hands-on experience developing APIs and services for mobile applications and web clients at scale.
- Successful delivery of complex projects including debugging problems spanning multiple systems.
- Experience architecting APIs, event streams, webhooks.
- Experience working within and towards distributed systems.
- Bonus: experience building services for livestreaming, advertising, or subscriptions.
