Senior Software Engineer role focused on AI-powered open-source cybersecurity platform development.
О компании
- Founded in 2022, is a global cybersecurity company on a mission to empower defense teams to be proactive through open-source solutions that uncover threats and drive action.
- stands out in the cybersecurity ecosystem through its open-source, AI-powered and threat-informed approach to Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM). Our eXtended Threat Management (XTM) platform brings together threat intelligence, exposure validation and cyber risk reduction, enabling organizations to better understand their threat landscape and take action.
- At the heart of is our open-source approach. Our vision is to unite defenders into a global community to make security more open, resilient and collaborative.
- As continues to scale globally, we are building the organization, infrastructure and capabilities needed for our next stage of growth. How we scale matters just as much as how fast we scale: our CORE values: Cohesion, Openness, Responsibility and Equity shape how we work together, make decisions and build for the future.

- We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is genuinely, deeply convinced that AI is transforming the way software gets built, and who wants to make that transformation happen at .
- We are looking for an engineer first. This isn't a "we bought Copilot, please roll it out" role, and it isn't only a tooling or development role either: part of the job is building, part of it is trying things on real work, measuring them and telling teams honestly what works and what doesn't. This is a practitioner role for someone who has already lived this shift, who experiments constantly, who knows what works and what doesn't, and who can bring 60 engineers along on that journey.
- You will join the XTM Foundation team as 's internal reference on AI-Native engineering. You'll propose our approach, build our practices, run experiments, and share the results so that teams can change how they work with confidence. You'll be hands-on, opinionated, and always one step ahead.
- Define and own 's AI-Native engineering strategy: which tools, which workflows, which practices, and how they evolve as the landscape moves fast.
- Run structured experiments to evaluate new AI coding tools and agents (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Cline, MCP servers, code generation agents…), measure their real impact on velocity and quality, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Build the guardrails and engineering standards that ensure AI-generated code is maintainable, tested, and consistent with our quality bar — not just fast to produce.
- Work directly with product engineering teams (~80 engineers) to embed AI practices into their day-to-day workflows: pair programming with AI, AI-assisted code review, test generation, documentation, and beyond.
- Share what you learn. Run internal talks, workshops, and demos. Be the person engineers come to when they want to understand what's possible, and what isn't. Show real results, including the failures.
- Stay permanently ahead of the curve — the AI tooling landscape moves weekly. You'll be the one tracking it, filtering the noise, and surfacing what actually matters for a team like ours.
- Work in the XTM Foundation team to turn AI practices into shared building blocks for every product team: agent workflows in our CI pipelines (dependency updates, flaky test triage, review assistance), shared MCP servers and prompt libraries, versioned AI configuration in the repositories, and written rules on tools and data handling that apply to everyone.
- Contribute to 's external voice on AI-Native engineering — blog posts, open-source contributions, conference talks — as the opportunity arises.

- Reports to: Principal Engineer of XTM Foundation team.
- Key collaborators: Engineers and Engineering Managers across OpenCTI, OpenAEV, and OpenGRC product teams; VP of Technology; CTO.
- Working model: You will split your time between XTM Foundation team work (research, experimentation, standards) and direct collaboration with product teams to embed AI practices in real engineering workflows.
- 7+ years of software engineering experience — you are a strong engineer first. You understand what good code looks like, and that's what makes your judgment on AI credible.
- You are genuinely AI-first in how you work. Not as a trend, not as a productivity hack. You've already transformed how you build software, you can show what you built and what you measured, and you want to help others do the same.
- Proven experience deploying AI-assisted development practices within an engineering team: you've done this before, you know what resistance looks like, and you know what actually works and what doesn't.
- Deep, hands-on familiarity with the current AI coding tooling landscape: agentic coding tools, LLM-powered code review, prompt engineering for development workflows, MCP ecosystems, and what's coming next.
- Strong full-stack engineering background — you can evaluate AI output across the whole stack and contribute code yourself when it matters.
- You can make a clear case, with evidence. You're a natural communicator who can discuss a trade-off with a skeptical senior engineer just as well as you can help a junior developer get started.
- Comfortable working in a remote-first, async culture with teams across multiple time zones; clear communicator in English.
- Autonomy and ownership mindset: you drive this agenda without waiting for direction, and you bring others with you rather than working alone.
- Bonus: experience with open-source communities, cybersecurity domain knowledge, contributions to AI tooling projects, or public writing/speaking on AI-Native engineering.
- We believe we do work that matters. Our open-source approach means that work extends beyond . You’re contributing to technology and ideas that strengthen a global community of defenders and help make cybersecurity more open and collaborative.
- We bring together cybersecurity, open source and AI — giving you the opportunity to work with emerging technologies, experiment with new ways of working, and contribute to how they are applied in practice.
- Be part of a fast-growing, truly international team — collaborating across Europe, North America, APJ and beyond, with the flexibility of a remote-first environment. As we grow, you’ll have opportunities to expand your scope, take ownership, learn quickly and grow with us.
- Cohesion, Openness, Responsibility and Equity define how we work together — with openness, ownership, collaboration and respect. These are the principles that guide how we make decisions, treat people and grow together, especially when no one’s watching.
- Competitive compensation + equity — everyone shares in our success
- Remote-first flexibility — work from wherever you’re based, with flexibility built into how we operate
- 25 days PTO baseline — real time to disconnect, recharge and enjoy life outside work
- Volunteer days — paid time to contribute to causes that matter to you
- Set up for success — choose the equipment that works for you, with additional support for your remote work and development needs as our programs evolve
- Two annual in-person get-togethers — one global company get-together and one team get-together, creating dedicated time to connect, collaborate and strengthen our culture beyond the screen
- What matters here is what you bring, not what you look like, where you’re from or how you identify.
- Apply now and help us build the future of the cybersecurity ecosystem, together.
