We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a cross-functional team delivering fintech products for hundreds of thousands of European businesses. The role involves technical leadership, people management, and driving product impact through engineering excellence.

Responsibilities
- Guide a cross-functional team (5-10 engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA) in delivering products that create real value for hundreds of thousands of businesses across Europe
- Communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, and executives
- Challenge problem framing with PM partner and ensure the team solves the right problems
- Think in terms of business outcomes, not just technical outputs
- Discuss retention and conversion funnels alongside system architecture
- Help the team understand ROI and prioritize based on value and effort
- Balance feature delivery with technical debt while keeping scalability in mind
- Make technical decisions through explicit trade-offs and explain the rationale behind choices
- Take ownership of both outcomes and people
- Run 1:1 meetings, create growth plans, own hiring and promotions
- Build engaged teams through honest feedback and coaching
- Invest in making the team more productive – better tools, smarter processes, fewer bottlenecks
- Drive predictable delivery by partnering tightly with Product and Design
- Communicate proactively about priorities, risks, and constraints
- Encourage healthy debate and move toward "disagree and commit" when needed
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development building data-intensive production systems
- Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering teams
- Hands-on experience with at least one of these languages and platforms: C#/.NET, Java/JVM, JavaScript/Node, Go
- Experience with distributed architectures, databases, messaging and queueing systems
- Experience in product-led organizations, ideally with international scope
- Strong business acumen - connect engineering work to revenue, retention, and trust
- Comfortable with product metrics (DAU/MAU, retention, conversion funnels)
- Exceptional communication in English across all audiences
- A builder's mentality: care about shipping great products and growing great teams
