Responsibilities
- Work day to day on AWS, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD setup, observability, and the on-call rotation.
- Focus on automation—investing in tooling rather than writing runbooks when tasks repeat.
- Develop tooling primarily in Go.
- Manage infrastructure defined with Terraform and Terramate, with Atlantis running plan and apply on pull requests.
- Handle workloads running on EKS with Karpenter, Cilium and Istio, deployed through ArgoCD.
- Maintain observability built on Grafana, Loki, Tempo, and Prometheus compatible metrics.
Requirements
- Several years of hands-on experience operating production systems on AWS and Kubernetes, including genuine on-call ownership.
- Strong knowledge of AWS fundamentals including VPC, IAM, EKS, and RDS.
- Practical experience with Terraform and a GitOps-style delivery workflow (ArgoCD, Atlantis, Flux, or similar).
- Comfort writing code, with some prior experience in Go or willingness to learn it (writing small services and tools is regular).
- Strong investigation, debugging, and problem-solving instincts.
- Ability to handle ambiguous production incidents, work through them in a structured way, and identify real root causes.
- Strong written and spoken English with communication skills to drive design discussions across engineering, product and security.
- Flexibility on locations with working hours overlapping European time zones.
