Responsibilities
- Guide a cross-functional team (5-10 engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, and QA) in delivering products that create real value.
- Communicate clearly with engineers, product managers, and executives about product, users, business, and team impact.
- Challenge problem framing with PM partner, ensure solving the right problems, think in terms of business outcomes.
- Discuss retention and conversion funnels alongside system architecture.
- Help team understand ROI and prioritize based on value and effort.
- Step in to unblock technical issues when needed.
- Balance feature delivery with technical debt, keeping scalability and pace in mind.
- Make technical decisions through explicit trade-offs and explain the rationale.
- Own both outcomes and people management.
- Run meaningful 1:1s, create growth plans, own hiring and promotions.
- Build engaged teams through honest feedback and coaching.
- Invest in team productivity by improving tools, processes, and reducing bottlenecks.
- Drive predictable delivery by partnering tightly with Product and Design.
- Communicate proactively about priorities, risks, and constraints.
- Encourage healthy debate and move toward "disagree and commit" when needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development building data-intensive production systems.
- Proven track record leading cross-functional engineering teams.
- Deep technical knowledge with hands-on experience in at least one of C#/.NET, Java/JVM, JavaScript/Node, Go.
- Experience with distributed architectures, databases, messaging and queueing systems.
- Experience in product-led organizations, ideally with international scope.
- Strong business acumen connecting engineering work to revenue, retention, and trust.
- Comfortable with product metrics such as DAU/MAU, retention, conversion funnels.
- Exceptional communication in English across all audiences.
- Builder's mentality focused on shipping great products and growing great teams.
