Responsible for owning internal IT end to end, from provisioning to security, as the first dedicated IT hire at a startup.
О компании
- is building a safer, simpler way for kids to connect — without smartphones. We’re creating screen-free, delightful devices and services that let families call the people who matter most, free from the noise of today’s digital world.
- We’re building a bold, authentic, nostalgic, and kinda quirky brand that resonates with folks who want something simpler & better for their kids than the tech-infused lives we’re currently living (and who have a sense of humor about it). As we gear up to scale to thousands of families, we’re ready to bring on an IT & Systems Administrator to help make it happen.
Обязанности
- Families trust us with their kid’s first phone, and the team keeping that promise can only move as fast as the tools behind them. We’re looking for an IT & Systems Administrator to own internal IT end to end, from day-one provisioning to the security of every account our team touches. You’ll be our first dedicated IT hire, tasked with building the foundation and running it day to day. This isn’t a role for someone looking to build a team; it’s for someone who’s seen what great IT looks like at scale, knows how to build it scrappily at a startup, and genuinely loves doing the work.
- Select and implement SSO, bring our apps behind it, and enforce MFA everywhere it belongs
- Stand up device management across Mac and Windows — enrollment, encryption, patching, and an inventory of every device we own
- Administer Google Workspace — users, groups, sharing policies, and security settings — as the source of truth for who has access to what
- Build an access model that holds at 100+ people: role-based permissions, regular access reviews, and a clear request-and-approval path
- Own onboarding so every new hire has a working laptop, logins, and the right access before their first standup — every time, not “probably”
- Make offboarding airtight: access revoked, devices recovered, and files handed over the day someone leaves
- Be the helpdesk for everyone at — access, hardware, accounts, and the everyday “this isn’t working” — so IT stops being someone’s side job
- Own the IT side of office moves and build-outs — workstations, conference-room A/V, and wireless access points
- Write the runbooks, standards, and self-serve help docs that keep IT from bottlenecking on you, and report on what’s working, like time to provision and open risks
Требования
- 5+ years in IT at technology companies, ideally including time at both an early-stage startup and time at a company operating at scale; you know what great looks like and how to build toward it
- Hands-on experience rolling out MDM and SSO, ideally from scratch; you’ve enrolled the fleet, written the policies, and chased down the edge cases yourself
- Deep Google Workspace admin experience and comfort supporting both macOS and Windows
- A practical security mindset; you know which controls matter at 35 people, which matter at 100+, and how to sequence the jump
- Fluency using AI as a multiplier across troubleshooting, scripting, and documentation; this is how we work, not a nice-to-have
- A clear, patient communicator who can walk a non-technical teammate through a fix without making them feel small
- Genuinely happy as an individual contributor for the long haul; you’d rather build and run the systems yourself than manage a big team of people who do
- Low-ego and collaborative vibes; everyone here sweeps the floor
- Based in Seattle and ready to work from our office 4+ days per week; this isn’t a remote role
Условия
- We’re building tech that protects childhood: We’re on a quest to give kids a more analog childhood — one with real conversations, real connection, and way less screen time. No doomscrolling, data mining, or dopamine traps — just a simpler, better way for kids to stay in touch. This is a rare opportunity to build something that truly matters.
- You’ll build IT from the first ticket up: As our first dedicated IT hire, you’ll decide how every person at gets set up, secured, and supported — for the next 100 people and beyond.
- Small, high-trust team: Every company says “team,” but at it means something different. We’re a small, mission-driven group that genuinely has each other’s backs — professionally and personally. You’ll be joining a tight-knit crew where your ideas and instincts matter from day one.
- Room to explore, not just execute: You’ll have the space to explore new ideas, challenge assumptions, and build systems that reflect our values of trust, simplicity, and care.
- If you’re excited by the idea of giving the team behind every the tools to keep our promise to families, please reach out. We can’t wait to meet someone who’s ready to jump in, make IT just work, and help us grow.
