- The architecture is a simple Rails monolith with MySQL and few moving parts to move fast and enable AI reasoning.
Responsibilities
- Own hard problems end-to-end, deciding what to build, shipping, and owning outcomes.
- Work on different parts of the stack as needed: backend services, frontend bugs, data pipelines.
- Frame problems with PMs as peers, run experiments, and bring customer evidence.
- Harden critical paths, kill incident classes, design abstractions.
- Review risky changes and raise risks early, managing tradeoffs.
- Share learnings about AI openly within the team.
- Examples of current work: improving registry recommendations, eval system to catch AI support agent errors, consolidating child's info as one source of truth.
Requirements
- Extensive experience shipping production systems.
- Ability to move forward with ambiguous problems.
- Strong generalist skills and breadth across backend, frontend, and data pipelines.
- Capacity to learn unfamiliar parts of the stack quickly.
Conditions
- Fully remote, remote-first culture across US and Canada.
- Small teams (pods) of 3-5 engineers.

- Comprehensive compensation includes base salary range CAD 255,900 to 318,600 plus 15% target bonus, equity, and RRSP match.
- Salary depends on experience, with growth based on performance and scope.
