- Alawar is both a game developer and publisher, with strong in-house development and product expertise.
Responsibilities
- Scout promising indie games and studios across Steam, festivals, industry events, communities, accelerators, and other relevant channels.
- Evaluate projects from a product and commercial perspective: gameplay loop, audience, genre dynamics, competitors, market fit, and key risks.
- Monitor Steam trends, emerging mechanics, successful releases, and signals from short-form gaming content and creators.
- Build and maintain relationships with developers and introduce strong teams to Alawar.
- Prepare clear recommendations and present promising opportunities to our producers and BD team.
- Grow a strong professional network across the indie ecosystem and represent Alawar at conferences and industry events.
Requirements
- Experience scouting PC/Steam titles, ideally with a track record of projects personally discovered and brought to a publisher.
- Deep knowledge of the indie PC market and strong gaming expertise across genres.
- Ability to separate personal taste from product and commercial potential.
- Understanding of Steam analytics and external market intelligence tools.
- Strong networking and communication skills and comfort with proactively approaching developers.
- Ability to work independently and build own scouting pipeline rather than rely on predefined sources.
- Fluent in both English and Russian.
