The Software Engineer at iCapital will work on new features, enhancements, and defect resolution using Ruby on Rails, Scala, and React. The position is hybrid based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Responsibilities
- Backend feature development in Ruby on Rails and/or Scala with ZIO
- Frontend development in React and Redux
- Unit and integration test development via manual and automated test efforts
- Building out prototypes and POCs
- Active participation in daily stand up meetings
- Active participation in Peer Code Reviews as part of our standard SDLC and Change Management Process
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering
- 6+ years of Full Stack, web-based application development
- 6+ years of development experience with React and Ruby on Rails or Scala
- 6+ years of HTML / CSS development
- Demonstrated understanding of relational database concepts and modeling practices
- Passion for actively learning new technologies
- Ability to work independently or as part of a group effort, as required
- Solid problem solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Collaborative approach to software development
- Fluency in English and Portuguese required — written and verbal

- Employees in this role will work in the office four days, with the flexibility to work remotely one day (Friday).
