Finance Generalist role supporting leadership decisions and building operating systems for scaling, working across finance, revenue operations, go-to-market, product and engineering teams.
О компании
- Basis builds real agents that do real work in the real economy. Our agents operate for hours at a time, performing end-to-end work for some of the largest accounting firms in the world. We recently raised $100M at >$1B valuation and are racing to deploy the most advanced applied ML at production scale. Our investors include: Khosla Ventures (Keith Rabois & Vinod Khosla), Accel (Miles Clements), Google Ventures, Nat Friedman & Daniel Gross, Adam D'Angelo, Jeff Dean, Jack Altman, Noam Brown, Kyle Vogt, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue and many other operators/technical leaders. "Basis is on the frontier of building production-grade, long-horizon agents. They've pushed the limits of what we thought our models could do on real-world, economically valuable, complex accounting tasks. They've been a great collaborator in helping us shape what the future of agents looks like." — Prashant Mital, Applied AI Lead, OpenAI
Обязанности
- Basis is looking for a Finance Generalist to understand our business, support leadership in making better decisions, and building the operating systems to help us scale rapidly. This role will touch almost every function at the company - you’ll work across finance, revenue operations, go-to-market, and our product and engineering teams. This role reports to the Head of Finance.
- This is a broad, high-ownership role. You’ll own key financial models, report on the performance of our business and financials, evaluate pricing or new investments, and stand up new automations to make the finance team more efficient. You’ll go wherever the highest-leverage questions are and turn ambiguous problems into clear analysis and action.
- We expect our finance function to be AI-native. You’ll use AI and automation as core tools—building models, dashboards, workflows, and lightweight systems that increase the speed and quality of our decisions.
- 📍 Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team, five days a week.
- A Clear View of the Business: Leadership has a trusted, decision-useful view of revenue, spend, headcount, unit economics, and performance.
- Better Decisions, Faster: Important questions are answered with rigorous analysis, clear recommendations, and an appropriate level of speed.
- Systems That Compound: Models, dashboards, and workflows become more automated, reliable, and useful as Basis scales.
- A High-Leverage Partnership: Finance is a trusted partner to leadership and operating teams across the company.
Требования
- 4–8 years of experience, ideally beginning in investment banking or another analytically rigorous environment and followed by an in-house role in strategic finance, revenue operations, or a similar function at a high-growth B2B software, fintech, AI, or technology company.
- Exceptional financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to connect detailed work to a clear strategic point of view.
- A builder’s mindset: you create systems from scratch, automate repetitive work, and improve how teams operate rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
- An AI-native working style and a track record of using AI and modern tools to work faster, go deeper, and increase your own leverage.
- Strong business judgment, including the ability to identify which questions matter most and balance rigor with speed.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to turn complex analysis into clear recommendations for company leadership.
