- Role Summary: The Operating Room RN provides direct patient care and serves as a patient advocate in the operating room. This role supports surgeons and anesthesia providers, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity throughout the perioperative process.
- Monday–Friday schedule
- No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
- Serve as circulating nurse, supporting patients, surgeons, and anesthesia staff during procedures
- Prepare and maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient operating environment
- Accurately assess patient needs, provide reassurance, and involve families in care decisions when appropriate
- Collaborate with the surgical team and communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and colleagues
- Support patient safety, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in staff education, orientation, and professional development
- Organize and manage supplies, equipment, and staff for effective case management
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- Associate’s degree or higher in nursing
- Perioperative nursing experience preferred
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient-advocacy skills
