Backend Team Lead position to lead a team of 6-8 Go engineers building high-load payment infrastructure for real-time transaction processing in an international fintech environment based in Cyprus with relocation support.
Responsibilities
- Lead backend architecture and technical delivery
- Build scalable microservices & event-driven systems
- Review code and stay hands-on with Go development
- Improve performance, reliability & observability
- Lead production incidents and technical investigations
- Mentor engineers and participate in hiring
- Drive AI-assisted development across the team
Requirements
- Strong Go/Golang background
- Previous Team Lead / Tech Lead experience
- Distributed systems & microservices
- PostgreSQL: transactions, indexing, optimization
- NATS / Kafka / RabbitMQ
- High-load, business-critical production systems
- CI/CD, monitoring, testing & troubleshooting
- FinTech / payments / PSP / acquiring experience
- Knowledge of settlements, reconciliation, refunds & chargebacks
- Practical experience with AI coding assistants / AI agents
Nice to have
- ClickHouse, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, PCI DSS
