Experienced Chartering Manager role in a Shipping Company based in Nicosia, Cyprus, focusing on Time Charter-In, Charter-Out, and Commercial Operations to support home cargo and expand third-party cargo business.

- The company is developing a business model based on operating chartered-in tonnage: securing vessels on Time Charter (TC/TCT) terms for home cargo, with a gradual expansion into third-party cargo.
Responsibilities
- Charter-In — Primary Focus: Search, select, negotiate and fix vessels on Time Charter terms for home cargo requirements.
- Negotiate hire rates, periods, options and charter terms with shipowners.
- Build and maintain a strong pool of available tonnage and long-term relationships with owners.
- Ensure optimal voyage profitability and commercial balance.
- Charter-Out: Source cargoes for chartered-in vessels — initially home cargo, with further expansion into third-party cargo.
- Negotiate freight rates, routes, laycan and chartering terms.
- Execute and supervise contracts, including fixture and post-fixture activities.
- Develop relationships with clients, traders, forwarders and brokers.
- Monitor freight markets, rate trends, regional dynamics and the competitive landscape.
- Commercial Voyage Management: Plan commercial voyage parameters, including routes, schedules, costs and margins.
- Ensure compliance with the commercial terms of charter parties.
- Coordinate closely with the Operations Manager responsible for operational execution.
- Analyze voyage results and prepare P&L for the business line.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in chartering or maritime transportation.
- Strong understanding of Time Charter and Voyage Charter markets.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to manage commercial risks.
- Strong command of English.
- Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with shipowners, brokers and clients.
- Commercial mindset and strong understanding of voyage economics.
