Looking for a Middle+ Backend PHP Developer with experience in product companies to help scale a rapidly growing product from 1.5M to 6.5M monthly users. The role focuses on faster feature delivery, scalability, and proactive improvements using PHP, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
About the product
- Our product grew from 1.5M to 6.5M monthly users in one year.
- Goal: Faster feature delivery, improved stability and scalability, and proactive contributions.
- Tech stack: PHP (Yii2), Kubernetes (dedicated cluster), BASSAB cloud, internal & external APIs.
- Team structure: 1 Backend Lead (Roma), 2 Frontend Developers, Designers + Analysts, QA (~8 hours/week), Audio recording software development team (English required).
- Key people: Backend Lead, Frontend team, Audio software team.
Responsibilities
- SEO (indexing, catalogs, search discoverability)
- Recommendation systems
- Public-facing API (design, build, document)
- Integrations with external systems (audio distribution platforms)
- Rapid prototyping: ideate → implement → validate
- Optimize search ranking and sorting algorithms
- Solve A/B testing infrastructure performance challenges
- Implement new approaches to content storage and monetization
- Work with BASSAB cloud infrastructure
- Operate in Kubernetes (dedicated cluster)
Requirements
- Initiative — you find and implement improvements yourself, don't wait for tasks.
- Product company experience — no agencies or outsourcing.
- Russian — fluent (team language).
- English — sufficient for international communication.
- Strong PHP — real-world depth
- Kubernetes + cloud infrastructure — hands-on
- Integrations with external systems and APIs

Conditions
- Fully remote (any country, taxheavy jurisdictions not preferred)
