Financial Data Analyst role supporting IT and Finance teams in managing financial data warehouse operations and reporting using Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Power BI.
About the product
- Financial data warehouse built on Microsoft Fabric to support financial reporting and budgeting cycles.
- Data warehouse integrates financial data pipelines, SSAS models on Azure Analysis Services used for Excel and Power BI reporting.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor financial data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric — daily checks, troubleshooting, refreshing.
- Validate data quality at each period close: completeness across all entities, mapping accuracy, reconciliation with source systems.
- Maintain and update account mapping files (GL accounts, projects, cost centers) in coordination with the Finance team.
- Manage SSAS model refreshes on Azure Analysis Services for Excel and Power BI users.
- Onboard new country entities into the data warehouse by replicating existing pipeline patterns.
- Support the budget cycle: template preparation, data loading, model updates.
- Serve as the primary IT contact for the Finance team on all data-related questions.
- Handle ad-hoc data requests: extracts, reconciliation checks, report adjustments.
- Understand and work with standard financial reports: Profit & Loss (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
- Support Finance during period close — validate data in real time, fix mapping issues, ensure models are refreshed promptly.
- Establish regular communication with Finance to track open requests and upcoming needs.
- Use AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude) to improve personal productivity — writing queries, analyzing data, drafting documentation, troubleshooting issues faster.
Requirements
- Confident working level in SQL (queries, data validation, joins, aggregations).
- Knowledge of Power BI and DAX measures.
- Experience with SSAS models / Tabular models.
- Understanding of financial reports: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and how numbers connect.
- Strong attention to detail to catch data errors before reports.
- English and Russian languages.
