QA Engineer role in AI-driven fintech company focused on regulatory compliance automation.

- You bring fresh perspectives on software quality, testing strategy, automation, reliability, and the overall user experience, including AI-based testing.
- You know how to design, develop, execute, and maintain effective testing solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
- You are comfortable testing complex backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, integrations, and user-facing applications.
- You take ownership of quality, proactively identify risks, and work closely with engineers and product teams to prevent issues before they reach production. We expect high agency!
- You are comfortable managing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, and can make pragmatic decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- You are eager to address challenging technical problems and help build reliable software that creates a significant impact for users worldwide.
- You are mission-driven and excited to join an early-stage Silicon Valley-based startup.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test automation, or software engineering.
- Experience designing and executing test plans, test cases, and testing strategies for complex software systems.
- Experience testing backend services, APIs, databases, and web applications.
- Experience with automated testing using languages or frameworks such as Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Pytest, or equivalent.
- Experience identifying, documenting, troubleshooting, and communicating software defects.
- Self-driven, highly motivated, high agency.

- 6+ years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, or software engineering.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Experience across the full product lifecycle, including gathering requirements, reviewing technical designs, defining quality criteria, implementation, release validation, and production monitoring.
- Experience testing highly scalable backend architectures, distributed systems, asynchronous workflows, data pipelines, and cloud-based applications.
- Strong understanding of API testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, performance testing, reliability testing, and AI testing.
- Experience with SQL databases, NoSQL databases, blob storage, message queues, and event-driven systems.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improving test coverage, test reliability, and release confidence.
- Understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure, observability, and the failure modes of distributed systems.
- Ability to investigate production issues using logs, metrics, traces, database queries, and other debugging tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, product, design, and customer-facing teams across locations.
- Team player who proactively proposes solutions when faced with ambiguous product, quality, or software engineering problems.
- Note 1: previous work references might be required and checked.
- Note 2: AI-generated applications will be automatically rejected. Be real.
- Note 3: Physical presence in Prague is required (hybrid model allowed and supported but assume that you'll have to come to the office).
