Senior individual contributor responsible for corporate communications, executive positioning, and storytelling at Gong.

Responsibilities

  • Corporate Communications
  • Develop and drive Gong's global corporate narrative, ensuring alignment across leadership, product, and go-to-market teams
  • Own earned media strategy for major announcements — corporate news, partnerships, product milestones, and industry leadership moments
  • Shape and inform Gong's corporate messaging framework, ensuring consistency and differentiation in a competitive AI market
  • Partner cross-functionally with marketing, legal, HR, investor relations and more to align communications with business objectives
  • Executive Communications
  • Serve as primary communications strategist and ghostwriter for Gong's C-suite, including the CEO and senior leadership team
  • Develop executive thought leadership programs across owned channels, media, and speaking platforms
  • Create compelling content, like op-eds, exec platforms, bylines, LinkedIn posts, talking points, and briefing materials, that authentically reflects each leader's voice
  • Prepare executives for media interactions, interviews, and public appearances through media training and message coaching
  • Identify and secure meaningful speaking opportunities at tier-one industry events and business forums
  • Crisis Communications
  • Lead development and ongoing management of Gong's crisis communications framework, protocols, and response playbooks
  • Support and serve as an internal escalation point and strategic counsel during reputational issues and sensitive business developments
  • Rapidly assess emerging threats, provide clear-eyed guidance to leadership, and drive swift, coordinated response
  • Partner with legal, HR, and executive teams on sensitive communications including workforce changes, competitive incidents, and regulatory matters
  • Conduct post-incident reviews and embed learnings into updated protocols and organizational readiness
  • Stakeholder & Executive Management
  • Build trusted relationships with global executive stakeholders, acting as a strategic communications advisor to senior leaders across the business
  • Manage and prioritize competing executive communications requests with sound judgment and effective stakeholder management
  • Develop and oversee global external agencies and vendor relationships, ensuring high performance and strategic alignment
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Gong's business, competitive landscape, and market dynamics to inform communications strategy in real time
  • Contribute to department planning, budgeting, and measurement frameworks in partnership with the team lead

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, with significant time in corporate communications roles at high-growth technology companies or leading PR agencies serving tech clients
  • Demonstrated track record managing corporate communications programs at scale, including earned media strategy for major company milestones
  • Proven experience as an executive communications strategist and ghostwriter, with a portfolio spanning multiple formats and leadership voices
  • Deep hands-on experience managing crisis communications — from early detection through resolution and post-incident review
  • Prior experience working directly with and advising C-suite executives in a communications or advisory capacity
  • Experience at or with a B2B SaaS, AI, or global enterprise technology company strongly preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills — among the sharpest writers in any room, with the ability to adapt voice, tone, and register across audiences and formats
  • Outstanding creative and media skills - you have a pulse of the trending market topics and understand how to tap into those across traditional and emerging mediums
  • Sound strategic judgment; able to distill complex business situations into clear communications recommendations under pressure
  • High emotional intelligence and executive presence — you can hold a room, earn trust quickly, and navigate competing stakeholder interests with professionalism
  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously without sacrificing quality
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment with a bias toward action over perfection

  • The annual salary hiring range for this position is $168,000 - $250,000 USD. 
  • Compensation is based on factors unique to each candidate, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, qualification, education, experience, and location. At Gong, we have a location-based compensation structure, which means there may be a different range for candidates in other locations. The total compensation package for this position, in addition to base compensation, may include incentive compensation, bonus, equity, and benefits. Some of our sales compensation programs also offer the potential to achieve above targeted earnings for those who exceed their sales targets.

Partnering closely with the Head of Corporate Communications, Social & AR, you will be a strategic thought partner and own the execution of corporate communications, executive positioning, and crisis management. 
  • This is a role for a builder and a doer — someone equally comfortable drafting a CEO op-ed, managing a fast-moving media crisis, and coaching executives on message discipline, all in the same week. You will work directly with Gong's leadership team and be a trusted voice in decisions that shape company reputation at scale.
