Responsible for driving new business and managing client relationships in furniture rental subscriptions.
Responsibilities
- We are looking for a proactive, client-focused Business Development Executive to work from our office and drive both new business and account health for existing clients. This role suits someone with a sales/ops background who is comfortable on the phone and in person with clients, and who can stay composed and solution-oriented when handling escalations — delayed deliveries, product quality issues, installation problems, or service complaints.
Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or marketing related field
- • 1–3 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Operations or Client Servicing, ideally with exposure to operations, logistics, or order fulfillment
- • Strong verbal communication skills — confident speaking with clients over phone, email, and in person
- • Demonstrated ability to manage pressure and de-escalate tense client conversations
- • Basic understanding of operations/supply chain concepts — delivery timelines, installation, quality checks, and dispatch
- • Proficiency in MS Excel/Word; CRM experience is a plus
- • Strong negotiation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills
Conditions
- • A fast-growing, India-leading brand in the furniture & appliance rental space
- • Exposure to both B2B and B2C client management
- • A collaborative office environment with clear growth paths in sales and account management
Other
- Cityfurnish is India’s leading furniture and appliance rental subscription brand, offering flexible rental plans for homes, offices, co-living spaces, and hospitality clients across multiple cities. We combine quality products with doorstep delivery, installation, and maintenance — backed by a strong operations network. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for people who can build client relationships and confidently manage the realities of a fast-moving, delivery-driven business.
- • Identify and pursue new B2B opportunities — corporates, co-living operators, hospitality, and bulk/turnkey furniture rental clients
- • Build and manage a sales pipeline; achieve monthly/quarterly rental subscription targets
- • Prepare and present rental proposals, package options, and pricing to prospective clients
- • Negotiate terms, tenure, and pricing in line with company policy
- • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts after the sale is closed
- • Coordinate with the operations and fulfillment center teams to ensure delivery and installation timelines are met
- • Proactively update clients on order status, expected delivery dates, and any changes in plan
- • Support clients through upgrades, exchanges, returns, and renewals
- • Handle client escalations directly and professionally — including delayed deliveries, product quality concerns, or installation/service issues
- • Liaise with operations, warehouse, and quality teams to investigate the issue and drive a fast resolution
- • Keep clients informed with honest, timely updates while a resolution is in progress, to protect trust and retention
- • Stay calm and firm under pressure, including with frustrated or demanding clients, without escalating tension unnecessarily
- • Flag recurring issues to management to help improve delivery and quality processes
- • Maintain accurate records of leads, client interactions, complaints, and resolutions in the CRM
- • Share regular reports with management on pipeline status, account health, and open escalations
- • Work closely with the operations team to flag at-risk orders before they become client-facing issues
- • Client-first mindset with the maturity to manage difficult conversations
- • Cross-functional coordination across sales, operations, and quality teams
- • Resilience and composure under pressure
- • Ownership mentality — sees client issues through to resolution rather than just escalating and moving on
