- About the Role Attentive is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Tax Manager to join our Tax team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Tax, this individual will play a key role in supporting all aspects of Attentive’s tax function, including tax accounting, compliance, planning, and strategic initiatives.
- As the Tax Manager, you will help build scalable processes to support Attentive’s continued growth while partnering cross-functionally across Finance, Legal, HR, and Operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing technical tax expertise with process improvement, strategic thinking, and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist in the preparation and review of Attentive’s ASC 740 tax provision, including effective tax rate calculations, deferred tax assets and liabilities, and uncertain tax positions
- Act as a key reviewer and contributor in direct and indirect tax compliance processes, including federal, state, local, sales/use, and other tax filings
- Prepare and review tax supporting documentation and workpapers to ensure accurate and timely compliance and reporting
- Research, analyze, and draft technical memoranda on a variety of federal, state, and international tax matters
- Support strategic tax planning initiatives, including tax forecasting, modeling, R&D credits, and other tax optimization opportunities
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives, transactions, and operational changes
- Support external tax audits and inquiries, including coordination with auditors and taxing authorities
- Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess potential impacts to Attentive's tax position and compliance requirements
- Help drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and tax technology enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Support ad hoc tax projects and special initiatives in partnership with the Senior Director of Tax
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA and/or Master's in Taxation (MST) strongly preferred
- 6+ years of progressive corporate tax experience within a public accounting firm and/or corporate tax department
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and accounting for income taxes
- Experience with federal, state, and local tax compliance, as well as sales/use and other indirect taxes
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical tax research and translate complex tax concepts into practical business recommendations
- Experience supporting tax planning, forecasting, and strategic tax initiatives
- High attention to detail with the ability to drive projects to completion in a deadline-driven environment
- Experience supporting audits and interacting with external auditors and taxing authorities
- Experience within a SaaS, technology, or high-growth company environment is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax matters to non-tax stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
- Excellent analytical, research, conceptual, and planning skills
- Ability to self-motivate, be proactive, and function independently
- Must be highly hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with evolving priorities and responsibilities

- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $165,000 annually + equity + benefits
