  • Westside Surgical Center is an ambulatory surgery center located in Cincinnati, Ohio. With two operating rooms, and four procedure rooms, the center provides high-quality, cost-effective outpatient procedural care primarily for GI, Endoscopies, and Ophthalmologic care.
  • Owned and operated in partnership with BSMH, Gastro Health, and Compass Surgical Partners, the Westside Center combines advanced technology with compassionate, patient-centered care in a convenient setting.
  • Medical Assistant - PCA assists staff and registered nurses in providing preoperative and postoperative patient care in the surgery center. Supports patient comfort, safety, and efficient workflow through direct patient assistance, basic clinical tasks, and maintaining a clean environment.
  • • Monday–Friday schedule (30-40 hours/week) 7am-3:30pm
  • • No nights, weekends, holidays, or call
  • Assist with patient admissions and preparation as directed by the RN.
  • Help patients change, secure belongings, and transport within the facility.
  • Obtain and record vital signs (BP, temperature, pulse, respirations).
  • Assist with patient mobility, bathroom needs, and comfort measures.
  • Provide nourishment to patients in the recovery area.
  • Perform CLIA-waived testing (e.g., pregnancy and blood glucose).
  • Remove IVs as directed and transport lab specimens.
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment, including terminal cleaning of stretchers, recliners, and equipment.
  • Use appropriate infection control practices and personal protective equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, escorts, and team members.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and positive teamwork.
  • Manage time effectively and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Assist with inventory, logistical tasks, and other duties assigned.
  • Participate in quality improvement and maintain high patient satisfaction.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program or 3–5 years of patient aide experience.
  • BLS certification required
