Responsible for the entire live event lifecycle for Johnny Chang Live, from outreach to post-event wrap-up, ensuring flawless execution.

Responsibilities

  • Every live event we produce is a chance for someone to encounter God for the first time. The person in the back row of a church who almost didn't come. The family that drove two hours because they saw a clip online. The teenager who's been watching Johnny's videos alone in their room and finally gets to be in a room full of people who believe the same thing. You are the person who makes that moment happen, flawlessly, every single time.
  • As our Live Events Producer, you own the entire live event lifecycle for Johnny Chang Live, from initial outreach and venue booking through on-the-ground production and post-event wrap-up. You will plan and execute everything from local church gatherings to multi-city tours to prison ministry visits. You work directly with leadership, coordinate vendors and volunteers, and build the systems that let us scale our in-person mission globally. You are not an assistant. You are the operator who runs this arm of the ministry.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of verifiable experience in live event production and/or tour management.
  • Proven experience managing live events with 1,000+ attendees, including multi-vendor coordination (AV, catering, security, volunteers).
  • Deep knowledge of tour routing and travel logistics: flight booking, car rentals, Airbnb/lodging coordination, and budgeting for multi-city trips.
  • Strong budgeting skills. You must be able to build, manage, and stay within event budgets across multiple simultaneous productions.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship-building skills. You will represent our brand to pastors, venue managers, and partners.
  • Proficiency in ClickUp (or equivalent PM tool), Google Drive, AI tools, and event management/booking software.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as events require.
  • Must be a systems-builder who documents processes so events are repeatable at scale.

Conditions

  • Starting pay is $3,000-$3,500/month (about one weekend of events per month).
  • Comp can rise quickly based on experience and bandwidth. Our goal is to find someone that can grow into a full-time role.

  • Location: Must be US-based. Los Angeles preferred. Open to remote. Type: Contract (Part-Time) Department: Live Events
  • Own all event and tour logistics: routing, scheduling, venue booking, travel, and accommodations for the entire team.
  • Lead all pre-production for every event, including tech riders, vendor contracts, run-of-show documents, and volunteer coordination.
  • Run on-site production, managing vendors, partners, AV, and volunteers to deliver a flawless attendee experience from doors-open to load-out.
  • Build and maintain a global pipeline of partner churches, venues, and event contacts to keep future bookings flowing without leadership having to source them.
  • Own all event-related communications (internal and external), keeping ClickUp updated with 100% clarity on every event's status, timeline, and open items.
  • Manage post-event wrap-up: vendor payments, debrief notes, attendee follow-up coordination, and documentation of what worked and what didn't.
  • Create and refine repeatable systems (checklists, templates, vendor databases) so every event runs at the same standard regardless of city or scale.
  • Objective 1: Book and begin production for our entire 2026 and 2027 live event calendar.
  • Our current pace is roughly one weekend of live events per month. You'll have clear systems to follow from Day 1.
  • Book and successfully complete at least 3 weekends of live events in your first 90 days.
  • Deliver a complete pre-production package (tech rider, run-of-show, travel plan, vendor contracts) for each event at least 30 days out.
  • Create a polished "Johnny Chang Live Event" partnership package and send it to at least 15 high-potential churches or venues.
  • Generate at least 5 qualified booking conversations from that outreach by Day 90.
  • Every event you touch has a fully maintained ClickUp project with zero overdue tasks and clear status updates posted weekly.
  • Successfully produce and run at least 2 live events end-to-end with no critical logistical failures.
  • You have never produced events with 1,000+ attendees or managed multi-city tour logistics. We need someone who has done this, not someone who wants to learn.
  • You don't have artifacts you can share from past events. We'll ask you to walk us through a real project board, budget, or run-of-show from work you've done. Without that, we can't move forward.
  • You need to be told what to do next. This role requires you to own the entire operation and drive it forward without oversight.
  • You struggle to communicate proactively across a remote team. If leadership has to chase you for updates, this won't work.
  • You are not comfortable with the faith-based mission. Every event exists to help people encounter God. If that doesn't resonate with you personally, this is the wrong fit.
  • You crumble under pressure. Flights get canceled, venues fall through, and gear breaks. You need to solve problems on the spot without panicking.
