Lead the architecture and development of scalable, high-performance frontend systems for a large-scale memecoin launchpad.

About the company

  • Baton Corporation is the development company that builds and operates the entire technology stack behind pump.fun , the largest memecoin launchpad in production today. The systems are low latency, high throughput, live under constant load, and break if you get them wrong.

Requirements

  • Have repeatedly built and evolved large-scale production React systems serving real users under real load
  • Deep understanding of browser internals, rendering pipelines, hydration, streaming, and performance profiling
  • Strong architectural instincts - able to design frontend systems that remain coherent as product and team scale
  • Expert in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with fluency in state management strategies, caching models, and data-fetching tradeoffs
  • Comfortable reasoning about distributed systems from the client side - including consistency, latency, and eventual state alignment
  • Known for solving ambiguous, cross-cutting frontend problems others struggle with
  • High-agency and execution-focused - you shape direction by building, not by delegating.
  • Able to influence technical decisions across teams through clarity of thinking and strength of implementation
  • Excited by high-scale consumer systems, crypto-integrated products, and fast-moving environments

Conditions

  • Unmatched ownership and autonomy
  • Exposure to systems operating at the edge of crypto scale
  • The ability to ship fast and see real-world impact immediately
  • If you’re motivated by responsibility, speed, and building products used by massive audiences, you’ll feel at home here.

Other

  • As a Senior Staff Frontend Engineer, you’ll remain deeply hands-on while shaping the technical direction of our frontend platform. You’ll own the hardest frontend problems - performance under real load, architectural scalability, and correctness in complex, stateful systems.
  • Architect and evolve large-scale frontend systems using React and Next.js that serve hundreds of thousands (and eventually millions) of users
  • Define and drive long-term frontend architecture strategy while actively implementing critical parts of the system
  • Own performance, reliability, and correctness across mission-critical user flows, including rendering performance, state management, caching, and data synchronization
  • Lead the design of frontend systems that handle real-time updates, blockchain state changes, and high-frequency interactions without degrading UX
  • Establish scalable patterns and abstractions that enable rapid product iteration without increasing systemic complexity
  • Drive cross-functional architectural decisions with backend and Solana engineers, shaping clean client–server boundaries and data contracts
  • Anticipate scaling bottlenecks and proactively redesign systems before they become constraints
  • Lead multi-quarter frontend initiatives end to end - from RFC and design to rollout, monitoring, and iteration
  • Raise the bar for engineering quality through rigorous design reviews, performance audits, testing standards, and operational readiness
  • Improve developer velocity by evolving tooling, build systems, CI/CD, observability, and frontend infrastructure
  • Act as a technical anchor during high-pressure launches or incidents affecting core user flows
  • We work in person
  • Hours can be long and unconventional
  • The pace is intense
  • Expectations are high, and impact is immediate
  • Working at Baton is not for everyone
