Software Engineer Co-Op position for hands-on full-stack development experience at Solink's R&D team in Ottawa.
Responsibilities
- We are seeking a motivated Software Engineer Co-Op or Intern to join our R&D team. In this role, you’ll gain hands-on experience in full-stack development, working on both front-end and back-end components of Solink’s applications. You’ll work closely with experienced developers, gaining insights into the development lifecycle and contributing to impactful projects in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- You are currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, seeking a co-op or internship opportunity.
- You have proficiency in TypeScript, or similar languages (TypeScript preferred).
- You have familiarity with React.
- You have proficiency with Node.js.
- You are a self-starter and able to learn technical concepts quickly.
- You demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and a passion for quality.
- You have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- You demonstrate a sense of ownership and are committed to supporting projects.
- You have familiarity with Git and version control best practices.
- You have an excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- You have analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions.
- You have a passion for technical challenges, a drive for success, and the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Candidates must undergo a criminal records check upon hire;
- Be a Canadian Citizen (dual citizens included), or eligible to work in Canada;
- Be willing to comply with Solink’s own security policies and standards.
- Mandatory Onboarding visit in Ottawa/ Toronto during first week of employment
- Mandatory onsite visits periodically (quarterly basis)
Nice to have
- You have familiarity with database technologies (SQL, DynamoDB, Redis).
- You have exposure to cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, etc.).
- You have experience with REST APIs
- You have experience in high-velocity startup or AI-first environments

- You are supporting the development of new features, from initial design through to implementation, under the guidance of senior developers.
