Mechanical Technician responsible for mechanical design, fabrication, system integration, and prototyping in a startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build mechanical components and assemblies from concept to prototype
  • Create, modify, and maintain mechanical drawings and documentation
  • Fabricate parts using shop tools, machining, and rapid prototyping methods
  • Work with and integrate basic electronics and electromechanical systems
  • Troubleshoot and iterate on prototypes quickly
  • Juggle multiple projects and shifting priorities in a startup setting
  • Develop creative, practical solutions to open-ended technical problems
  • Communicate clearly with engineers, founders, and teammates
  • Document designs, changes, and build processes so others can follow

Requirements

  • Experience as a mechanical technician or similar hands-on role
  • Strong mechanical design and drawing skills
  • Demonstrated hands-on fabrication and build experience, including minor machining, soldering, working with pressure systems, and performing equipment maintenance
  • Working knowledge of electronics and system integration
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and switching tasks as needed
  • Strong problem-solving mindset — you figure things out and make them better
  • Clear communicator who values good documentation

Nice to have

  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Experience with prototyping, R&D, or custom hardware

  • The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000; The pay range provided is an estimated base range for this role. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and education.
