Requirements

  • · QKA certification required (or actively pursuing).
  • · 3+ years of experience in 401(k) plan administration, preferably within a MEP structure.
  • · Strong knowledge of plan document creation and maintenance.
  • · Proven experience with annual compliance testing and regulatory reporting.
  • · Ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them in practical scenarios.
  • · Excellent communication and organizational, and time-management skills.
  • · Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • · Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis for compliance testing.

Other

  • · Own and nurture client relationships at both decision-maker and administrative levels across Sequoia’s key accounts.
  • · Guide strategic analysis of retirement plans to support client goals and compliance.
  • · Collaborate with MEP vendors and other third parties to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • · Lead 401(k) participant education meetings to promote financial wellness and engagement.
  • · Troubleshoot and resolve administrative issues, including payroll remittance challenges.
  • · Provide timely, thoughtful support for participant questions and account concerns.
  • · Assist in the execution and validation of annual compliance testing (e.g., ADP/ACP, top-heavy coverage) to maintain plan integrity.
  • · Maintain and update plan documents to reflect regulatory changes and client amendments.
  • · Monitor plan operations for compliance with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
  • · Support audit preparation and respond promptly to compliance inquiries.
  • · Maintain accurate records in internal client databases and systems.
