Lead growth and marketing initiatives to build the go-to-market engine, generate qualified enterprise leads, and create market-educating content for Petra Labs.

Responsibilities

  • You'll be the first person focused entirely on Petra Labs' own growth. Today, the vast majority of our pipeline comes from inbounds and referrals from success with our existing customers. That works - but it doesn't scale, and we're leaving demand on the table.
  • We need someone who can work with leadership on building the GTM engine from the ground up: generate qualified enterprise leads, create content that educates a market that barely knows this category exists, and run experiments across channels to find what converts.
  • "Founding" means what it sounds like - you'll own this function, shape the strategy, and have a direct line to the founders. We're seed-stage with meaningful equity for early team members who want to build something, not just join something.

Requirements

  • We care more about how you think than where you've worked. Background is less important than raw ability and drive.
  • Sharp and resourceful - you figure things out fast, whether it's a channel you've never used, a tool you've never touched, or a market you've never sold into
  • Growth-minded - you're wired to find leverage; you think in systems, funnels, and feedback loops, not just campaigns
  • Strong writer - you can explain a complex, technical service in plain language that a CMO would forward to their team
  • Analytical - you default to data; you think in terms of conversion rates, CAC, and pipeline velocity, not vanity metrics
  • Self-directed - you don't need a playbook handed to you; you write the playbook
  • Hungry - you want to be early at something that matters, not comfortable at something that's already figured out

Conditions

  • Competitive salary + meaningful equity - this is a seed-stage founding team role
  • In-person in New York City
  • Reports directly to the founders
  • High autonomy, low bureaucracy, real ownership

Other

  • Build and run targeted outbound campaigns targeting enterprise marketing leaders (VPs/CMOs) in verticals we haven't locked down yet
  • Develop lead qualification frameworks - we can only take one client per vertical, so targeting precision matters more than volume
  • Create and optimize landing pages, email sequences, and paid campaigns
  • Track and report on pipeline metrics; own the funnel from awareness to qualified opportunity
  • Write and produce content that educates the market on AI search optimization - blog posts, LinkedIn content, case studies, data reports
  • Translate our client results into compelling proof points (e.g., citation share gains, prompt ranking improvements)
  • Help position Petra Labs as the authority in a category we're defining
  • Support the founders' thought leadership with ghostwritten content, talking points, and social strategy
  • Set up and manage CRM, email automation, and analytics infrastructure
  • Run rapid experiments - test channels, messaging, formats, audiences
  • Build repeatable playbooks for what works; kill what doesn't
  • Manage marketing budget and ROI tracking
