Develop and optimize thermal management solutions for advanced optical interconnect products in AI supercomputing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the thermal design of pluggable optics, near-packaged optics, and co-packaged optics for data center switching, compute, and interconnect equipment.
- Support the development of air-cooled and liquid-cooled thermal solutions for high-power optical and optoelectronic assemblies, such as heatsinks, thermal bridges, cold plates, coolant interfaces, and platform-level heat rejection paths.
- Contribute to thermal analysis of interactions among ASICs, DSPs, optical engines, lasers, packages, and surrounding mechanical structures in dense data center deployments.
- Collaborate with system architects and senior engineers to help define thermal requirements for data center equipment at rack-level, chassis-level, and module-level, under both air and liquid cooling conditions.
- Apply working knowledge of liquid-cooling technologies used in data center systems, including cold plates, manifolded liquid loops, coolant distribution concepts, and thermal interfaces.
- Assist in evaluating tradeoffs between air cooling and liquid cooling for power-dense electronics and optoelectronic assemblies.
- Gain familiarity with the thermal challenges unique to near-packaged and co-packaged optics, such as proximity to hot ASICs, optical temperature sensitivity, thermal isolation, and serviceability constraints.
