  • This role is full-time. We’re looking for candidates based in NYC or open to relocating who are open to 5 days a week in the office.
  • As Founding Recruiter, you'll be responsible for helping build the team that builds Alpaca. You'll recruit across every function in the company: software engineering, product, operations, provider growth, marketing, customer success, and clinical leadership. You'll own the entire hiring process while developing creative, scalable ways to identify and attract exceptional talent.
  • This is not a recruiting coordinator role. This is not a role where you'll inherit a mature recruiting function.
  • You'll help design how hiring works at Alpaca from the ground up.
  • The people you bring into the company will directly shape our culture, velocity, and ability to achieve our mission.
  • We don't believe the best candidates are always actively applying.
  • You'll develop creative ways to find and engage talent, including community-building, referral systems, outbound sourcing campaigns, events, content, partnerships, and AI-powered recruiting workflows.
  • You should constantly be asking:
  • "How do we find talent that nobody else is talking to?"
  • Build systems, processes, and automations that allow Alpaca to move faster than larger companies.
  • This includes:
  • Candidate sourcing workflows
  • Outreach sequences
  • Interview scorecards
  • Hiring manager training
  • ATS management
  • Pipeline reporting
  • Offer and closing processes
  • Help leaders identify what great looks like.
  • Challenge assumptions.
  • Improve interview quality.
  • Raise the hiring bar across the company.
  • You'll be expected to become a trusted thought partner rather than simply filling roles.
  • Great recruiting is part sales, part storytelling.
  • You'll help candidates understand why joining Alpaca is a career-defining opportunity and communicate our mission, culture, and vision in a compelling way.
  • As the company scales, you'll help determine what recruiting resources we need, what specialization makes sense, and eventually help hire future recruiting team members.
  • You have experience hiring across a variety of disciplines, ideally including some combination of:
  • Software Engineering
  • Product
  • Operations
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Customer Success
  • Healthcare or Clinical roles
  • You're excited by variety and can quickly learn new talent markets.
  • You don't rely on inbound applications.
  • You know how to find people through creative sourcing, referrals, communities, events, research, and personalized outreach.
  • You enjoy the puzzle of finding candidates others miss.
