Financial Analyst role in a family-run industrial packaging group driving financial analysis, reporting, and business insights across divisions.

About the company

  • A profitable, family-run, growing group of companies in the Industrial Packaging and Distribution space. Proudly Canadian and entrepreneurial, with multiple divisions.
  • We serve customers across North America, with core operations and leadership based in Canada. With 60+ employees and a tightly run finance team, we’re scaling while maintaining a practical, no-politics, get-it-done culture.

Requirements

  • You’re a strong Financial Analyst who understands how a business actually runs, not just how to build spreadsheets.
  • You’re comfortable working with large datasets, high transaction volumes, and imperfect data. You don’t wait for direction; you proactively investigate variances, identify trends, and surface insights that matter.
  • You’re looking for a role where you can have real visibility and impact across a business, not just sit in a silo.
  • Strong experience with budget vs. actuals, variance analysis, and financial modeling
  • Ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable business insights
  • Experience working in high-volume, product-based or distribution environments
  • Ownership of monthly reporting packages and performance analysis
  • Comfort working across multiple divisions or business units
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
  • Ability to work directly with leadership and non-finance stakeholders
  • 3+ years of experience in Financial Analysis / FP&A (Intermediate to Senior level)
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and business drivers
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Experience working with ERP systems (ex. Epicor Prophet 21 is a strong asset)
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across teams
  • CPA (or in progress) is preferred but not required

Nice to have

  • Experience in industrial distribution or product-based businesses
  • Exposure to inventory and COGS-heavy environments
  • Experience working in a multi-entity structure

Conditions

  • Full-time, on-site (5 days/week) with flexible hours
  • Location: Etobicoke / Airport area (427/401)
  • Competitive salary ($75-100k base) + bonus + benefits
  • High visibility role with direct exposure to leadership

Other

  • Finance is here to drive decisions, not just report numbers.
  • This role reports to the VP Finance & Controller. You'll work across all our divisions, owning financial analysis, reporting, and business insights. You’ll partner closely with leadership to understand performance, identify gaps, and bring clarity to complex financial data.
  • You’ll thrive here if you enjoy digging into the numbers, asking “why,” and influencing decisions through data, not just building reports.
