Manage day-to-day office and HR operations including payroll, onboarding, compliance, and vendor coordination to support team and organizational scalability.
Responsibilities
- Own office management: facilities, supplies, vendor relationships, and making sure the space works well for the team
- Run payroll processing and coordinate with our external providers to make sure everyone gets paid accurately and on time
- Manage onboarding and offboarding end-to-end: equipment setup, account access, first-day logistics, and exit processes
- Maintain employee records, HR documentation, and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions
- Support benefits administration and coordinate with insurance and payroll vendors
- Assist with recruiting coordination when needed: scheduling interviews, communicating with candidates, keeping pipelines organized
- Identify and improve operational workflows — if something is manual and repetitive, you'll want to fix it
Nice to have
- Experience at an early-stage startup. Exposure to multi-jurisdiction employment compliance (US + international).
Other
- Where multiple locations are listed for this role, the position may be based in any of those locations, with priority determined according to the order of listing.
- We're looking for a People & Operations Generalist to help keep Simular running smoothly as we scale. You'll be the go-to person for our Palo Alto HQ - owning day-to-day operations, supporting our team through the full employee lifecycle, and keeping things organized behind the scenes.
- 2-4 years of experience in People Ops, HR, office management, or a similar generalist role
- Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- You're organized, reliable, and comfortable owning things without a lot of hand-holding
- You have experience with payroll tools and HRIS systems
- You're good at juggling multiple priorities and keeping track of a lot of moving parts
- You're based in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area
