About the product
- We build in small, focused initiative teams: a Product Engineer working alongside a PM and a designer, supported by an Engineering Manager who helps you grow.
- AI coding agents are a force multiplier here — they give a small, senior team the leverage to ship more, faster, and at a higher bar for quality.
- You'll also work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering peers across initiatives in a shared codebase. The whole team owns whether the work moves its metric.
Responsibilities
- Be the engineering anchor of an initiative working as part of a tight team with PM and designer, alongside peers on adjacent initiatives.
- Handle the full lifecycle: shaping the problem, deciding technical approach, directing AI agents to implement code, shipping to production, and owning the outcome.
- Make architectural, data model, integration, rollout plan, observability, and rollback strategy decisions; document and revisit as needed.
- Ensure implementation quality: prompts, guardrails, evals, tests, and review loops that let agents ship safe, production-ready code, accountable for agent-authored lines.
- Maintain cross-functional partnership with PM (scope, tradeoffs), designer (UX, prototyping), engineering peers and Engineering Manager.
- Present initiative results 2–4 weeks post-launch with PM.
- Maintain a high bar for production correctness, security, performance, observability, and user experience.
- Lead AI agents to produce staff-level quality code using prompts, evals, tests, observability workflows.
- Own fast, documented technical decisions with architect review on significant ones.
- Scope and ship outcomes measured by metrics like conversion, retention, pro-funnel KPIs, and unit economics, with discipline to follow up post-launch.
Requirements
- Daily production experience shipping with AI-native tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or equivalents.
- Experience operating at a lead level making calls, shipping complex tasks, and owning outcomes.
- Outcome-driven mindset measuring success by metric movement and experience improvement.
- Strong horizontal partner able to collaborate with PM, designers, and engineering peers.
- Decisive and able to document architecture, data-model, rollout calls, getting fast input and moving forward.
- Impact extends beyond initiatives through reusable artifacts like agent workflows, evals, runbooks, post-launch reviews.
- Customer- and marketplace-minded focused on outcomes for customers and pros.
Nice to have
- Individual-contributor role with room to grow into management if desired (management tasks held by Engineering Manager).
- End-to-end product-engineering role shipping features to move metrics, handling platform & architecture as needed.
- Hands-on role maintaining high quality bar while agents handle much implementation.
- Shipping to a live marketplace with $100M+ in bookings and customer/pro use within the week.
