The Chief of Staff supports the CEO by improving executive alignment and decision quality without managing day-to-day operations, operating within a distributed leadership team mainly in the US (NYC preferred).

Responsibilities
- Design and run the executive operating rhythm across a distributed leadership team, including C-suite meeting design, leadership team offsites, and CEO's 1:1 cadence with clarity and concrete outputs.
- Build and maintain decision-making infrastructure for the exec team: RACI frameworks, decision logs, real-time commitment tracking, documenting decisions and tracking next steps.
- Create scorecards, dashboards, and executive reporting rhythms to provide CEO visibility into transformation priorities, business risks, and key decisions, partnering with COO and exec team.
- Ensure executive forums produce clarity, accountability, and momentum by managing pre-reads, capturing decisions in real time, tracking follow-through, and escalating unresolved issues quickly.
- Craft materials for key company conversations such as board updates, executive memos, decision briefs, CEO communications, investor narratives, and sensitive internal messaging tailored to senior audiences.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO on strategic priorities, sensitive issues, and cross-functional tradeoffs, translating complex discussions into structured options and actionable next steps.
- Represent the CEO in selected forums with delegated authority, returning with recommendations or follow-up actions.
- Sharpen priorities, improve executive decision-making, strengthen cross-functional alignment, and ensure follow-through on critical issues.
- Partner closely with COO and leadership to ensure c-suite visibility into execution, risks, dependencies, and necessary interventions.
- Operate across multi-regional leadership teams (US, Europe, APAC), managing asynchronous communication and coordination costs to keep the exec team aligned.
Requirements
- 8-12 years of experience including 2+ years in Chief of Staff, Executive Strategy & Operations, GM, or equivalent operating role.
- MBA or equivalent; strategy consulting background a plus but not required.
- Proven record designing and building operating infrastructure for distributed executive teams.
- Professional services, consulting, or B2B services experience preferred, with understanding of economics and consultative model.
- Meaningful experience in transformation contexts such as strategic pivot, M&A integration, or major operational change.
- PE-backed or high-growth experience, board exposure, and strong executive writing are pluses.
- Proven operator experienced with executive operating rhythms in 300-600 person professional services or B2B services businesses.
- Ability to drive accountability through influence by building trust with senior leaders and holding peers accountable as a partner.
- Skill to hold full operating plans, see dependencies, and anticipate secondary effects before issues arise.
- Structured thinking turning complexity and conflicting inputs into clear options and decisions.
- Sound judgment and discretion handling sensitive information and competing priorities with clear sense of escalation or support approach.
