About the product
- We've spent the last two years rebuilding the platform from the ground up: new customer app, new Pro onboarding, job distribution engine, and data infrastructure.
- The foundation is solid. Now we're moving into expanded service verticals, dynamic pricing, and AI-powered features at scale.
- Our stack is PHP (Laravel) and React/React Native, with Cypress as our primary test framework.
- We actively use Claude Code as part of our engineering workflow as a core part of how we work.
- The business is rapidly evolving with new verticals, flows, and edge cases demanding adaptive quality processes.
Responsibilities
- Own the automation coverage strategy, design and grow E2E and integration test suites using Cypress.
- Own the bug process lifecycle from triage to production fix, ensuring smooth communication and no issues fall through.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and the Data team to review requirements and define quality criteria.
- Identify gaps in quality processes and have the authority to propose and implement improvements.
- Perform exploratory testing on web and mobile across devices to catch issues automation may miss.
- Work cross-functionally to surface risks early and propose better solutions, embedded in one or two delivery teams.
- Leverage AI tools like Claude Code to write, maintain, and extend automation scripts, automating repetitive QA work.
Requirements
- AI-native: comfortable using AI tools like Claude Code integrated with engineering workflows.
- Automation-first approach: drives prevention through automated test infrastructure rather than manual testing.
- Customer-obsessed mindset: prioritizes user experience and practical functionality over just meeting specs.
- Adaptable to rapid changes in tools, processes, and business needs, especially regarding AI in testing.
- Collaborative and direct communicator across Product, Design, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Technically solid: able to read/write code, understand front and backend web services, write SQL queries, and debug across stack.
- Not a manual tester nor just a ticket executor; expected to influence quality strategy and tooling choices.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change in business and product scope.
Conditions
- Base salary: $45,000 - $65,000 USD.
- Equity offered to align with long-term platform success.
