The Locator is responsible for accurately identifying and marking underground hydro infrastructure to ensure excavation safety and prevent damage, working closely with Engineering and Operations teams.

Responsibilities
- Locate underground hydro cables accurately to ensure safety and prevent system damage.
- Review and organize locate requests; communicate with responsible persons on job sites to determine work.
- Connect locate devices to outside meter stacks and ring clamps to live wires or main switch.
- Perform all underground locate tasks, including opening service pits or coordinating opening of transformers for cable access.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to obtain accurate locate requests, provide technical advice, inform on GIS discrepancies, and assist with underground and overhead maintenance programs.
- Communicate with customers and other utilities such as Bell Canada, Union Gas, Rogers Cable TV, Contractors, and Municipalities.
- Foster a positive workplace culture emphasizing collaboration, positive attitude, customer support, and inclusivity.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of utility or related experience as a locator covering all underground locate areas.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and specifications per E&USA Rule Book, ESA Regulations, and OH&SA.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Valid Class “G” vehicle license in good standing is required.
