About the product
- We've spent the last two years rebuilding the platform from the ground up: new customer app, new Pro onboarding, job distribution engine, and data infrastructure.
- The foundation is solid. Now we're moving into expanded service verticals, dynamic pricing, and AI-powered features at scale.
- Our stack is PHP (Laravel) and React/React Native, with Cypress as our primary test framework.
- We actively use Claude Code as part of our engineering workflow, not as an experiment, but as a core part of how we work.
Responsibilities
- Own the automation coverage strategy, build and expand automated E2E and integration tests using Cypress.
- Manage bug process full lifecycle from triage to production fix, ensuring smooth operation and stakeholder communication.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Data teams to review requirements, identify risks, and define completion criteria.
- Identify and implement process improvements for software delivery quality.
- Perform exploratory testing on new features and existing flows across web and mobile devices to catch issues automation misses.
Requirements
- AI-native: use AI tools like Claude Code to write, maintain, and extend test code as a standard workflow part.
- Automation-first: drive building and maintaining test infrastructure, prefer automation over manual testing.
- Customer-obsessed: think like a user and test for real customer experience, not just specs.
- Adaptable to rapid evolution in software building and testing, especially with AI.
- Collaborative and direct: work across Product, Design, Engineering, and Operations, surfacing risks early and communicating candidly.
- Technically solid: comfortable reading and writing code, understanding front and backend web services, writing SQL queries, and debugging across the stack.
- Not a manual-testing role or ticket executor; expected to shape quality work strategically.
- Comfortable with multiple tools and frameworks, not limited to a single tool.
- Able to work in ambiguous, fast-changing business environment with new verticals and cases.
- Expected to influence upstream processes and quality strategy, not just verify downstream deliverables.
Conditions
- Base salary: $45-$65k
